3D Seashell

CSCI 1250 Introduction to 3D Animation

- October 21, 2024

The shell was modeled and partly shaded in Maya. Most barnacles on the top of the shell are modeled in Maya, and other textures on the top are created through projecting a picture of the shell that was altered and drawn on in Procreate. The same picture was used in black and white to connect to a bump map for the top.

The bottom shader is made up of two bump maps, that create the different types of lines on the bottom of the shell. The pictures for all lines were drawn in Procreate. To create the iridescent effect on the bottom of the shell, I connected the specular color to a facing ratio and ramp.
